When photographing babies who are in the Milestones & Memories program, I am always amazed how much they change in between sessions. I photographed Miss A at the end of October but didn't want to post any pictures until after Christmas since her mom said she was giving some of them as gifts.
Being three months old is hard work and so is posing for pictures. Poor thing, she just couldn't stay awake any longer.
Sleeping babies in cute hats are my favorite!
It almost never fails that each year I have one family who it takes several times to get their session done. Most of the time it's because of weather. This year this happened to the Rogers family and it was because of weather and scheduling conflicts and even a black eye. But in the end everything worked out better than we could have planned. We had great weather, an awesome location and we got to do them at sunset--my absolute favorite time of the day for pictures. Yeah!

I truly appreciate families who come back to me year after year for their family portraits. Even when it looked like this session may not happen this year, I'm glad this family was patient and determined like me to make sure it did. Thanks again Rogers family, and I look forward to your session next year.
The weather didn't exactly cooperate for me before Thanksgiving, but the day after was absolutely beautiful. I had three sessions that day and that officially ended fall sessions for 2011.
I photographed these two in the spring and was thrilled when their mom e-mailed about doing a fall family session.
I was trying to have them sit in front of the door to this building but they were really concerned about what was behind the door. Sam said there could be rats with red eyes in there, so of course we wanted no part of that. So we scooted down a little just in front of the brick.

December was also busy for me because Amanda and Richard got married. You may remember them from their awesome engagement session (the one with the snake!). I'm still busy working on their pictures but for now here's just a little sneak peek.
Forgive my lack of blogging, but as soon as fall sessions were over it was time to focus on Hayden's birthday and of course Christmas. I still need to blog several fall sessions so here goes....
I loved this little guy's blond hair. He was about to turn two so it was the perfect time for pictures.
Like most two-year olds he was on the move a lot, but did sit in the chair for a few seconds.
