Since Megan and Jason live in Chicago, I didn't meet them until just a few minutes before we started their engagement session. As soon as we exchanged handshakes though, I felt like I'd known them much longer. They were so easy going and fun and so super nice.
Jason proposed to Megan at Keeneland so we knew we wanted to start the session there. We met up on a Saturday morning that would have been perfect if not for the 20 mph wind that was blowing. I snapped pictures in between gusts of wind and we managed to find a few spots sheltered from what at times felt like a hurricane.
This was one of the first pics I took, and it's one of my favorites. I love Megan's red scarf.
How gorgeous are they going to be on their wedding day?!
As we walked around and talked, Megan said she grew up in Alabama and went to school at the University of Georgia and in the meantime her parents moved to Lexington. They thought Lexington would be a perfect location for their wedding next year for their guests from Chicago and Alabama.
These pics were taken in the spot where Jason proposed. He said that Megan was the best thing he ever won at Keeneland. So sweet!
This was another favorite of mine. Even though Jason had never been to Lexington until he met Megan, he's no stranger to horseracing since Chicago is home to Arlington Park. However, he was a stranger to burgoo which I told him he had to try while he was at Keeneland that day.
I was nervous about the weather for their session, so I went ahead and reserved the Bodley-Bullock House just in case it rained. Lucky for us it didn't, so we got the best of both worlds.
Another favorite.
While we were taking this shot, Jason joked that he should pose like George Constanza. I asked if they were fans of "Seinfeld," and they said they were. I love finding fellow "Seindfeld" fans. Love it!
The courtyard was so beautiful, and by looking at those flowers it was hard to believe it was mid-October.
Megan and Jason, I absolutely loved meeting you and can't wait for your wedding next year. I have no doubt it will be fabulous!
